What languages do you translate?

How long will it take to do translation?
For businesses each translator can do about 3000 words per day with the help of CAT tools, so if your document has 6000 words, we will deliver the document within 3 working days after translation, proofing and checking for alignments, etc For certificate translation, if it has one page then we would deliver on the same or next day depending on the language and complexity of the documents. We advise to get the actual timelines before making a decision.
Can you translate quickly?
Yes, we can consider doing fast translation without compromising on the quality of work by brining more resources ( translators) to work on your document. Additional charges apply for fast and rush jobs.
How is word count calculated?
We understand Calculating word counts for translation can be a little difficult to understand. Because word counts are important for translation pricing and predicting translation project delivery commitments, We use word count tools like what is in Microsoft word tools “ count word” to do the word count. We calculate rates per character when it comes to CJKV languages, Arabic and other non-English characters.
Are you authorised by ICA and MoM?
No translation agency is authorised by any government departments or officials. Our translation is accepted by embassies and immigration offices worldwide including iCA and MoM
Is Lyric Labs authorised company for translations?
No company or an individual is authorised by ICA or MoM for any commercial service that includes translation. Based on our experience and the quality certifications like ISO 9001, DIN EN 15038 Standard ICA and MoM accept our translation since 2010. Do you notarize the translation?
We do not do notary services as it must be done by a lawyer for a law firm authorised by the government. We can suggest a notary public with whom we have a mutual understanding. The details can be obtained from the support desk
Do you translate for Australian Immigration/Visa?
Yes we do
Can you get the translation notarized on our behalf?
Notary public may like to see you or verify with you on the document that requires notary public. So it is advised for you to visit the notary public and obtain the same.
How can I reach your company? (Directions, Public transport)
Our address is listed in Google Maps search for the company name Lyric technologies Pte Ltd and get directed. In case you are using public transport like the MRT, get down from Raffles place and exit towards raffles tower. We are on level 24 in One raffles tower. The building is next to the mrt station.

How can I be assured that you will not disclose my document?
We are not an individual or an agent. We are a professional translation company following certain standards in business. As per our ISO and DIN standards, we must comply to document security standards. The source document given for translation is destroyed after delivering the translated document. The original document shared will be given back once the translation is complete.
I want to do technical translation, can i get any reference?
Of-course. We have 3000+ clients in Singapore. We work with companies like Daimler, Pratt & whitney, GSK Drive line, etc. We can provide you with our references.
What is the average timeline to translate 1 page document?
Typically one day. Kindly send us the document for exact delivery date.
Are you available on Skype?
Yes we are available on Skype, Hangouts, WhatsApp and other instant messaging applications that are commonly in practice

How do you calculate your charges?
We charge PER WORD basis for documents beyond one page, incase if it is a single page then we charge per page. please ask for our rate card incase you are looking at volume based rates.

How many days do you take to do the translation?
If the document is a single page then we can deliver starting the next working days. Again it is better to check with our support desk before you proceed further because the language, clarity of document, availability of translator must be checked before conforming the delivery time.
Can you give me an official quote, If yes how long will it take?
We typically respond within 30 minutes incase if we have any doubts from the time we receive your enquiry. Quotation will be forwarded within a couple of hours for you to make a decision
How can I get support for an item?

How will you deliver the translated document?
We deliver the soft copy in PDF format. In case you want a hard copy we can arrange to courier or you can hand collect from the office. Please give us prior information, confirm that your document is ready before coming to collect. The courier charges will be at actuals and will be informed while sending you the cost estimate for translation as an optional service.

How do you maintain the quality of our translation?
Quality translation is the fundamental reason for our existence. right mix of translators, relevant tools can be bring 100% accuracy. We believe in using Subject Matter Experts ( SME’s) in place of translators for domain specific translation. e.g if you have an automobile document for translation, we use translators who have automobile experience or background.
Do you handle amendments in the document?
We make sure that there is no grammar for typo mistake while we deliver the document, in case the name of the address for any technical specification in wrongly typed or misunderstood you can highlight the same and forwarded to this support desk for rectification. incase the translator wants to clarify any information, we will arrange for a conference call and get the information required
How many rounds of amendments will you do for free?
We do amendments till you get satisfactory document. please note incase you want to change the sentence or words after delivering, we can certain do it with an additional cost.
Do you work on weekends if I require the translation on urgency?
We do not work on weekends, but in case you have an urgency, I will check if the translator is available for translation, we will will accept your job.
What software, tools your translators use?
Our resources(translators) use Microsoft Word Excel and other commonly used tools for translation purpose. The use CAT schools in case of Technical translation.
When will the courier reach?
Once we ask a courier company to deliver the document, we request an acknowledgment and share the same with you for further tracking. You may have to check with the courier company directly and track the document. Incase you want to use a specific courier company, you can place an order on them to collect the documents from our office.
Why don’t you come out with the exact date of receiving the courier?
Our core competency is translation, we engage third party vendors who are available near our location for the same. As we share the courier company details to you, it will be best for you to talk to them and track incase you have a problem. In our experience mostly our customers receive on time.
Can I send my relative or friend to collect the document on my behalf?
Incase you have submitted the original for translation, we insist that you come to collect it. otherwise you can ask your contact to visit us to collect with your authorisation
Do I get a dedicated support staff our project manager for our work?
For corporate customers and our contract clients we have dedicated project managers who exclusively work with the clients from the scratch. So it's easier for the client and agency to drive on a common purpose and sync very well
Can i get the translation in a specified format?
We can. Please specify the same while ordering.

Certified Translation (5)

What is Certified Translation?
A certified translation is a translation document accompanied by a signed statement from Lyric, which attests to the thoroughness and accuracy of the translation.
Will your translator come to court as a witness to the document?
NO. We work with translators from different countries and different time zones. We do not provide any affidavits or stand as witness.
How do I get updated on the status of the job?
You will get instant updates on the status of the jobs. In case you want to know at any given time during the process you can always write a mail to sg-support@lyriclabs.com and get any instant update
Why do we need to check on the draft? Isn’t the draft translated accurately?
As a part of a quality audit and to be doubly sure we check with our client before the final delivery. In some cases clients think the words used translator can be replaced with a better word or a word that's more relevant in today's context. We listen to the client and we change it, if it is found appropriate.
Will you refund incase ICA Rejects your translation?
Since 2010, we have not got a single case of rejection either from ICA or from other government agencies. Incase if you hear translation is rejection, please ensure is it because it was not enclosed with notary or sometimes ICA will expect your embassy to endorse the original and the translation. ICA has never said the translation is rejected since we started to work. Incase of rejections in spite of adhering to ICA requirements, then the client can bring the hardcopy to the office as original and issue a declaration that the translation was not used and collect the refund by means of bank transfer. Any bank fees for such transfers will be borne by the client.
